The information provided in this referral form will be processed by The Survivors’ Compensation

Advocacy Project as the data controller, for the purposes of assessing and responding to the referraland providing advocacy, casework support, independent assessment, and related services to survivors.

We process personal data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR)and the Data Protection Act 2018. This may include the processing of special category data, where necessary and lawful, including information relating to health, trauma, criminal injuries, or safeguarding matters.

Personal data will be used only for the purposes outlined above, will be kept securely, and will not be shared with third parties except where necessary to provide our services, required by law, or where appropriate safeguards are in place.

Data will be retained only for as long as necessary in line with our data retention policy. Individuals have rights in relation to their personal data, including the right to access, rectify, or erase data, and the right to raise concerns with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK’s independent authority for data protection.
